• Health inspection scores for Cobb County restaurants and other food services from August 14 to August 20 (cobbcountycourier.com subscription) — Cobb County health inspectors have released new scores for dozens of food businesses, including many in Smyrna such as Taco Bell on South Cobb Drive, Yakitori Jinbei, and several spots along Cobb Parkway. Scores range from excellent 100s to concerning mid-50s, giving Smyrna diners timely insight into which kitchens are keeping things clean this week.
   

• Smyrna Area Council meeting is Sept. 29 (macon.com) — Smyrna residents can hear Mayor Derek Norton's State of the City on Sept. 29 at the Smyrna Community Center, with a free but registration-required Cobb Chamber Smyrna Area Council meeting. Expect updates on 2026 projects, downtown greenspace changes, and future development plans, plus a Facebook livestream if you prefer to watch from home.
