New Details Emerge After Woman's Dismembered Body Found In GA

SMYRNA, GA — Police on Friday revealed new details after a woman was reportedly found dismembered in a Smyrna apartment complex.

An officer was first called to an apartment complex in the 4500 block of Valley Parkway around 7 p.m. Wednesday after being notified of a missing person, Smyrna Police Lt. Meredith Holt said at a news conference. The woman's family made the emergency call.

The officer stayed on scene for 30 minutes, meeting with the family and knocking on doors, Holt said. The family told the officer the woman's phone pinged inside the complex, and her vehicle was located in the parking lot.

According to Holt, the officer told the family to file a missing persons report with Atlanta Police since the woman's last known location was in Atlanta.

SPD would have assisted APD had the family filed a report in Smyrna, Holt said.

Officers were called back to the scene around 8:15 p.m. after the woman's body was discovered, she said. This happened 30 minutes after the initial officer left the scene.

The witness was able to identify the person carrying a tote connected to the case after seeing which apartment he had come out of, Holt said.

The family accused the person, identified by police as 18-year-old Kingston Bradley, of "carrying a plastic tub that contained a body" and running when he noticed the witness, WXIA-TV reported, citing warrants. A "dismembered torso" was ultimately found inside the tub, the news outlet reported.

The family told reporters they were able to identify the woman by her tattoo.

Investigators are still searching for other members of the woman's body, Holt said. The official cause and manner of death were not released.

Though police did not identify the body, the woman's family identified her to WXIA-TV as Shanteria "Tia" Mosely, 26.

The family says Mosely, who was employed with Doordash, left home with the intention of working; but, Holt said investigators were told she did not clock in or make deliveries Thursday.

Meanwhile, Cobb County Jail records on Friday showed Bradley, who lived with his father in the apartment complex, faces a charge of concealing the death of another. Holt said he is additionally being held as a person of interest on a murder charge.

Authorities found "several areas of blood staining and a large bloody saw," as well as a "mop bucket with water and mop in addition to a carpet cleaner," inside Bradley's apartment, WXIA-TV reported. An odor of bleach was reportedly detected.

Bradley's father is being interviewed as part of the investigation, Holt said.

In her 20 years with SPD, she said Smyrna has never seen a case such as this one.

"This is a shocking crime," Holt said. "I don't know how else to describe it. ... This is a particularly gruesome crime."
