• Norton Highlights Downtown and South Cobb Drive Plans in Smyrna Address (cobbcountycourier.com) — Major upgrades are coming to Smyrna, including a $35 million South Cobb Drive improvement plan and redevelopment of the former Smyrna Baptist Church site, plus new parks and recreation projects. Mayor Derek Norton's State of the City address also highlighted Rose Garden Park renovations, Campbell Middle School sports upgrades, and a mix of new community events drawing thousands of visitors downtown.
• Cobb County Quiz: Hispanic Heritage Month and Local Restaurants (cobbcountycourier.com) — A new Cobb County quiz uses Hispanic Heritage Month to spotlight local eateries, including a Smyrna cafe on South Cobb Drive that imports its coffee beans from Colombia. Residents can test their knowledge of Latin American dishes, local restaurant recommendations, and county demographics while discovering new spots to try around Smyrna and neighboring communities.
• Cobb County Restaurant Report Card – 09/30/2026 (newsbreak.com) — Cobb County's latest restaurant inspections include a Subway on Highland Ridge Road in Smyrna, which earned an A with a score of 91. The report also lists recent grades for a Captain D's in Mableton and a Burger King in Austell, giving Smyrna-area diners a quick check on nearby food safety standards.
