2 Fires, No Injuries In Snellville
Four adults and six pets were displaced in one of the two fires in Snellville Thursday morning.
SNELLVILLE, GA — Crews were busy Thursday morning responding to two separate fires, one an apartment fire at Spruce Circle and another a business fire at Stone Mountain Highway.
Firefighters first responded around 9 a.m. to a fire in the 3000 block of Spruce Circle, where a caller said smoke was coming out of the windows and roof of an apartment building, Gwinnett fire officials said.
Crews saw smoke coming out of the basement and fire coming out of the second floor when they arrived, fire officials said.

A woman sleeping on a couch in the apartment where the fire originated was awaken by firefighters who busted their way through the front door, fire officials said.
There were no reported injuries, fire officials said, adding there were no working smoke alarms in the apartment.

Four adults and six pets were displaced and received assistance from the American Red Cross.
The cause of the fire was electrical, fire officials said.
Soon after, Gwinnett firefighters responded around 10:30 a.m. to a single-story strip mall in the 4000 block of Stone Mountain Highway.
Smoke was coming out of a restaurant's roof when crews arrived, fire officials said, noting flames were in the kitchen.
Eight businesses were evacuated due to the fire.
There were no reported injuries, and investigators said the fire was started during cooking.
