Amazing Church - New Jerusalum Baptist Church - Steers Gwinnett Community Forum without Senate Candidates in Gwinnett
State Senate District 55, which covers DeKalb and Gwinnett excluded from the 2016 Gwinnett Community Forum
It is nice running for office. Meeting so many people and having an impact on dialog as we, the citizens walk on a two-way street to discover how best to make our community great! Could be promising!
Of course, knowing about voting and how to be a stimuli for the community to know about candidates running for office is a plus. A plus!
It's an education. And, education is the key in civic activity to engage the people with the right knowlege! It's just who is giving the knowledge and will you provide a level playing field.

I am writing this article because there is a story the community must know. New Jerusalum Baptist Church, the Ebony Society, Gwinnett County Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. and Raising Empowered Voices Uplifting People, Inc. is having a forum called "2016 Gwinnett County Candidates Forum", Thursday, September 29, 2016.
The tradegy to this Forum is the organizer is the former City Clerk of Snellville, Phyllis Moreland-Richardson, and the Moderator is the former Mayor of Snellville, Kelly Kautz. Both Kelly Krautz, Phyllis Moreland-Richardson and the State Senator, Gloria Bulter, went behind closed doors to orchestrate changing the Snellville Charter so that the Mayor would be able to hire the City Clerk, the City Attorney and City Manager. Kelly Krautz, lost the election to Mayor Tom Witts.

This group has put together the 2016 Gwinnett County Forum along with the Pastor Elijah Collins of New Jerusalum Church's Political Action Committee and has purposely excluded the "Senate" race of which I, Annette Davis Jackson for State Senate am running against Incument, Gloria Butler.
How convenient . . . given the Pastor Johnny Collins, Gloria Butler, Phyllis Moreland-Richardson and Kelly Krautz came together to orchestrate this Forum in Gwinnett without being inclusive of a "major" Senate race.
I called the Pastor personally to ask him why the Senate race wasn't included and he came up with a great answer, (Lol) as a Pastor, "We all agreed that we didn't want to be at the church all night"!
I explained to him that the only reason I called him was because there was a citizen who asked this question on Facebook, and he didn't get an answer. This group only chose these races below and they are highly contested, and I truly desire to know more of their rationale. Actually, I do know: Croynism. How unfortunate from a church too, that is suppossed to be "Non-Partisian to protect their 501 (c) 3 status.
Here is a Facebook post that was started by Claudette Forbes and seconded by Phyllis Moreland-Richardson that furthers my query on this Forum. Ms. Richardson posted this as a tag to a Fund Raiser posted on the "Snellville: Where Somebody is Everybody" Group on Facebook. She put this comment below a Fund Raiser the Nnette Favis Jackson for State Senate facilitated called the "Ballot Box" Fundraiser.
And as a "Fact Check", I, myself am running to replace the Incumbent Gloria Butler, however, it has nothing to do with as Claudette Forbes commented, Republicans "running a Black woman against a Black woman".
I, Annette Davis Jackson for State Senate am running against Gloria Butler solely based on her prompting as an author for Senate Bill 228, in 2015-2016 (Gwinnett County) behind the backs of the Snellville City Council and because of the Senator authoring :
Senate Bill 118 in 2015-2016, DeKalb County; change the jurisdiction of the Board of Ethics of DeKalb County; appointments; terms of office; qualifications,
And, the Senator appointed a very talented woman, Hermel Codi and then tried to rescind the appointment. I found both to be "abuse of power" as a veteran legislator. The Republicans didn't make this decision for me. The Senator, did! To include, not having any great representation for citizens of Gwinnett County! Race was never a factor!
Below, is the first set of written responses which made me write this article for publication!
Claudette Forbes Gloria Butler has been representing District 55 and we are very happy with her representation. She served the community well, both in Gwinnett and Dekalb Counties and we intend to keep her in office. New people always come with lots of empty promises and rhetoric and once they get in office you hardly see them again. Don't be fooled folks, the Republicans are trying to win this seat by putting up a black woman against another black woman, but we can see through this. On election day vote GLORIA BUTLER.
To end, on March 20, 2015, Senator Gloria Butler was the 1st and only author of Senate Bill 228 with the title:
Snellville, City of; make numerous administrative and clerical changes. It was (Read and Referred) by the Senate with no other authors, except, Senator Butler.
Those represented in tomorrow's Forum include:
Georgia House District 96 - Both Party Candidates
Georgia House District 101 - Both Party Candidates
Georgia House District 105 - Both Party Candidates
Georgia House District 108 - Both Party Candidates
Gwinnett Commission Chairman - Both Party Candidates
Gwinnett County Board of Commissioners, District 3 - Both Party Candidates
I wish all the Candidates tomorrow night the best and I do hope the media gets a hold of the organizers to find out how they are connected and how they have steered this forum not to include the top Senate Race, which is in Gwinnett, District 55, which covers DeKalb and Gwinnett County. I, Annette Davis Jackson am the Republican nominee and Spelman graduate in the race and Gloria Butler is the 17-year Incumbent in the race. Thank you Doug Gross of the Patch Digital Newspaper for sharing a portion of this story! Thank you!
