• Meet the Gwinnett County teachers of the year for 2028 (thegeorgiasun.com) — Snellville families can cheer on two local educators: Snellville Middle School's Mellica Telemacque and South Gwinnett High's Candace Spivey, both named their schools' 2028 Teachers of the Year. They'll join more than 150 Gwinnett teachers in the countywide competition, with semifinalists chosen this fall and the overall Teacher of the Year announced at a January 2027 banquet.
