Davis, Matthews & Quigley, P.C. Welcomes Sabrina Nizam as an Associate

Davis, Matthews & Quigley, P.C. is pleased to announce that Sabrina Nizam has joined the firm as an associate in the domestic relations and family law group. She represents clients in all aspects of family law including divorce, child custody disputes, modification of child support and alimony and related domestic issues.

Managing shareholder Lee Drake said, “As we continue to grow our practices firm wide, we are delighted to welcome Sabrina to the family law group.  One of the hallmarks of this firm is our successful trial attorneys, and Sabrina’s valuable background as a prosecutor with extensive courtroom experience is a significant asset for practicing family law.  We’re off to a strong start and excited about the opportunities we see for this year and beyond.”   

Prior to joining Davis Matthews & Quigley, Nizam served as a prosecutor, first with the DeKalb County Solicitor General’s Office and later as a Supervising Assistant District Attorney in the Major Felony Unit of the Gwinnett County District Attorney’s Office.  She was an instructor for the Gwinnett and DeKalb Police Academies, the Georgia Public Safety Training Center and the Georgia Gang Investigators Association. In her eight years as a prosecutor, she prosecuted numerous misdemeanor and felony trials.

Nizam is a member of the Atlanta Lawyers Club, Atlanta Bar Association, Family Law Section; State Bar of Georgia Young Lawyers Division; Gwinnett County Bar Association; the South Asian Bar Association (national and Georgia chapters); the Georgia Association of Muslim Lawyer; and Chair on the Law Day Committee. She received the Georgia Bar Association’s Commitment to Justice Award in 2009.  She is admitted to practice before the Georgia Court of Appeals and the Georgia Supreme Court.

Raised in Atlanta, Georgia, Nizam earned a B.A. in political science from Georgia State University and a J.D. from the Mercer University School of Law. Nizam is fluent in English, Hindi and Urdu.  She also serves as a guest commentator on the national program, In Session, which airs on TruTV and offers insight about high profile criminal cases.
