On Saturday July 14,2012 at Central Park in Cummings, GA the 8U Angels All-Stars finished their season the only way that they knew how; becoming 2012 Georgia ASA Class "C" State Champions. The original All-Star team consisting of #1 Lauryn Peppers, #2 Kennedy Broughton, #4 Aaliyah Smith, #5 Brianna Cox, #10 Kiriah Lovett, #19 Kelsie Walker, #20 Awtum Lewis, #21 Imani Washington, #27 Tahjanee Phillips, and #33 Lidia Quero was joined by #8 Shamya Young for the tournament.
The team stayed in the winner's bracket playing 3 games to claim the championship. They defeated last years champions the Twin Creek Twisters twice to clinch the title. This accomplishment capped off a summer that their families, and community will never forget.
We are all very proud of our girls and the hard work, dedication and committment to the community that they have exhibited.
