Space Station Astronauts to Speak with Local Museum from Space

ATLANTA—Expedition 35 crew members and NASA astronauts Tom Marshburn and Chris Cassidy aboard the International Space Station will take questions from more than 300 students at Atlanta’s Fernbank Science Center at 10:25 a.m. EDT Wednesday, April 17. 

The question-and-answer session is open to pre-selected students only, although media representatives are invited to attend. The event also is part of the center’s Destination Station Day, which lasts from 9 to 11:30 a.m. and is open to the public. 

Destination Station Day is a feature event of Destination Station: Atlanta, a campaign promoting research opportunities aboard the International Space Station. The Destination Station exhibit will be at the Fernbank Science Center from April 6 to May 18.

The space station is a multinational research facility and the largest spacecraft ever built. It is an official U.S. National Laboratory where astronauts and scientists from around the world conduct experiments in fundamental life, physical, Earth and space science, as well as human health, and technologies for space exploration and the improvement of life on Earth.
