Anthony A. Martino Scholarship 2016 applications due March 11th!

Goddard Systems, Inc. is accepting submissions for the 2016 Anthony A. Martino Scholarship!

The Anthony A. Martino Memorial Scholarship is named in memory of the founder of The Goddard School® franchise system, an entrepreneur who started several other well-known franchise companies including AAMCO Transmissions, Inc. and MAACO Auto Painting and Bodyworks, Inc. This scholarship is awarded annually to a graduate who demonstrates the work ethic and perseverance that exemplified Martino’s commitment to his career, family and community.

Goddard Systems, Inc. is accepting submissions for the 2016 Anthony A. Martino Scholarship! GSI first introduced the Anthony A. Martino Scholarship at the 2008 Franchisee Convention. The $10,000 scholarship is presented each year to a deserving high school senior to use toward his or her education at an accredited college or university. This scholarship is awarded annually to a graduate who demonstrates the work ethic and perseverance that exemplified Martino’s commitment to his career, family and community.

Scholarship Criteria

  • The ​applicant must be a graduate of a Goddard School pre-kindergarten or kindergarten program. Goddard Systems, Inc. may verify the information provided by the applicant;
  • The applicant must be a high school senior who is a U.S. citizen, a permanent resident or a non-U.S. citizen living legally in the United States;
  • A completed Scholarship Application must be submitted by the date determined for that particular year. For the most updated due date, please visit http://www.goddardschool.com/approach-to-education/scholarship;
  • Applications that are not complete (completed and signed application, essay, video and transcript(s)) by the specified date will not be considered. Scholarship applications can be mailed to ATTN: Scholarship, Goddard Systems, Inc., 1016 West Ninth Ave, King of Prussia, PA 19406. Applicant should notify Goddard Systems, Inc. promptly if any of the information submitted on or with the application changes after the application is submitted;
  • The applicant must provide one 30- to 120-second video addressing the question, “How did your Goddard School experience influence your career path or education?” Videos longer than 120 seconds will not be eligible for consideration and the corresponding application will be considered incomplete. Video essays should be saved to a USB drive or DVD and mailed with the completed application;
  • The written essay and video submitted with each application must be the original work of the applicant, and may not contain the work, including the intellectual property, of others. This includes non-original music;
  • The applicant must submit a transcript from all high schools he or she attended with his or her application. The transcripts must indicate a cumulative GPA;
  • The Scholarship will be awarded on the basis of available funds and applicants’ eligibility. Awards are for one year only;
  • The applicants must use the scholarship to attend an accredited college or university, including vocational or technical training and associate’s or bachelor’s degree programs. The scholarship is offered for study or training at an accredited institution of the recipient’s choice;
  • Relatives of Goddard Systems, Inc. employees, relatives of franchisees or relatives of any Goddard School employees are not eligible;
  • The Scholarship finalists will be selected based on their academic records, participation in school and community activities, honors, work experience, expressed goals and aspirations and submitted videos. Financial need is not considered. The decisions of the Scholarship Committee relating to the selection are final, regardless of the results of any social media campaigns or activity, and information relating to the Committee’s evaluation of any particular applicant will be confidential. The applicant agrees to accept the final decision of the Scholarship Committee;
  • The Scholarship recipient selection will be made without regard to race, age, gender, religion, political beliefs, employment status or any other factor which could constitute unfair or illegal discrimination;
  • The application and all parts of the submitted application package will not be returned to the applicant;
  • Goddard Systems, Inc. reserves the right to review the conditions and procedures of this Scholarship and to make changes at any time, which may include the termination of the Scholarship.
