Aug. 16 is Chef Appreciation Day in Snellville
As part of its Cancer Awareness Month activities, the National Pink Tie Organization celebrates Chef Appreciation Day each year.

Mayor Kelly Kautz has declared Aug. 16 as Chef Appreciation Day in the City of Snellville.
A proclamation read at Monday’s city council meeting states Chef Appreciation Day “is a time when chefs, physicians, nutritionists and fitness professionals throughout the nation and in the City of Snellville gather to promote healthy living and cooking, to uplift one another and to give back to those who have already helped so many others realize how truly wonderful a happy, healthy life can taste.”

A division of the National Pink Tie Organization, Chefs Against Cancer which involves 400,000 chefs worldwide. August is Cancer Awareness Month and as part of its Cancer Awareness Month activities the NPTO celebrates Chef Appreciation Day each year.
Chefs Appreciation Day is when chefs will be appreciated by their employer and the community. Chefs will promote healthy cooking, recipes and share healthy tips for children snacks.

“The citizens of Snellville always support the fight against cancer and have a history of honoring survivors and remembering those who have lost their battle with cancer,” the proclamation reads.
