Doulas??

A doula is a woman who is certified and trained to assist women in labor. We provide informational, physical and emotional support before during and after childbirth.

Most doulas are experienced in a variety of birthing situations. Whether it is a unmedicated, medicated or surgical birth. 

The benefit to the mother and her family is well documented. Most if not all moms who have used a doula report a favorable experience regardless of the outcome.

As doulas, we attend births frequently and gain experience in many hospitals and in working with a variety of medical professionals.

Doulas work in cooperation with all of the medical staff. We feel this approach is extremely important not only to the mom but also to our image as professionals. All to often caregivers have had negative experiences with pushy and demanding doulas. We are working to dispel this image. 

Expectant moms need to have someone who is on their side and ready to assist them in their choices. Our job is to educate and inform so our clients can make informed decisions about their births.
