"What did you say? I was talking"
Yes the truth is important, however is that our truth or HIS truth? There is a big difference.

Remember when we were kids playing a game called "rumors"? That's what I called it. Remember it was when someone would whisper something in someone else ear and then that person would whisper into the next persons ear and so on......remember by the time it got to the last person....it was not the same? Matter fact in most cases we took a simple thing and without all the words it turned so around and might be without any of the info and lot worst too.
We could stand there and wonder...right? Most of us would not go to the source of the info....but usually if the game is played right...someone would tell everyone what the original statement was. Even then, after we heard it from the beginning, did we believe. I think so, because we knew it was a game.

If you were an outsider watching and not involved in any of it, would you form an opinion on it? If we are being honest.....I have.
But we still play that game today. We might not be in a circle passing whispers as fun to see how messed up it could get......nope we are playing this game called Life and we are sometimes playing around with others lives. Play with the truth as we see it.

It is so easy to misunderstand things.....even when you still think you know all the facts.....but when we aren't even close to being involved....come on, you know the real juicy stuff? Man that's hard to keep quiet.
We need to get all the facts about something before we decide it is our place to tell everyone.....they call that "Gossip". But being real with you.....do you ever stop and question your motives.....why do you feel it might be your place to tell the world? Do you not believe that satan(no spell check, I do not want a capital s) is already on top of it and he will find things and others to help promote his mission of destroying? Or maybe he has recruited us to help him?
I personally had to become a better listener. That is not always easy is it? Talking sometimes about somethings seems to require less intelligence....it is easier to jump, than stop and think.
James talked about being better listers in James 1:19 he wrote
"My dear brothers and sisters, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak......"
Our problem today we are quick to speak and slow to listen......Are You Listening Now?
This thing we play called gossip.....is dangerous....it hurts other people, can and will come back most the time to the person or persons who started it! My Daddy use to tell me this, "believe nothing that you hear and question what you do see".
I have to ask myself all kinds of questions before I leap too.....I am not saying I have never fell into this trap, or be used by satan too, it so easy to fall, it is hard to stay from it. My questions are:
- What really happened?
- How does this effect my life?
- How is it effecting others?
- What good will this bring if repeated?
- Would I want to hear that about me?
- Do I see Jesus Christ in any of this?
- Was there anywhere in the Bible did Jesus spread rumors or gossip?(this is a deal breaker, in case you are slow like me)
- Who in life works that way?
- Who will get the glory and honor by repeating this?
It is easy to fall into this trap! Bottom line is this:
If someone came into Church and handed us a gun and told us to harm the person beside us......we would not do it, we would refuse to do......right?
But we would sometimes open that weapon on our face called a mouth and we would rip them apart with our tongues without even batting an eye.
I really got to ask you this question, would you want to live in a house like that? Work at a company like that? Attend a Church like that? I hope you answered "no" to those questions.......because I will let you in on a little secret......nobody else does either......but satan does and he is.
Look at the motives. Everything doesn't need to be repeated or told or known. That's God's work to know everything and to has HIS Hands on everything......not mine.....not yours.
Remember Hurt People, Hurt People......Hurting People Do Not Help People!
Yes the truth is important, however is that our truth or HIS truth? There is a big difference.
Today.....I choose to let Jesus Christ sort out the details and He will invite me and you in when He needs our help.
Don't fall into satan's traps.....lets work real hard today to Love one another "Sincerely"...Lets have compassion for each other.....lets lead others to HIS Loving arms by allowing them to see Jesus in us, not by what they hear us talk about how we are full of Him.....
Maybe if we slow down with our talking....we can give Jesus a moment to speak?
Mark 1:40-41 is more than a verse.
