"What Matters Anyway?"

In a Prayer this past week, I told God(like HE didn't already know it, right?)that if I needed to go visit, HE would have to provide a way. I told God the Great Jehovah Jireh; "God is our Provider" ..

I recently had to take the time to look at somethings and their real values. Anyone who knows me or have made it through one my sermons/messages or all of you (3) who have read this blog, knows that I am real big on doing inventories.

This is not so much about inventories of life as much as it is about life and the things that we might think that matters vs what really has value.  This past week I have had to look real close at these values........other words; what really matters to me or who?

As I am writing this on a Saturday afternoon I am riding up I-85 North to go see my sisters. In case you don't know it, I have 5 sister who live in North Carolina....I am the only boy. Yes in case you are asking; my Mother loved me the most.....but I was not spoiled, just kidding.

Anyhow, I am heading up to visit, I have a sister who is not feeling well and it has dawned me, I have not been very good at that.....the visiting part. In fact I must admit this, since Kay and I had moved to Snellville Georgia in 1984, I have been back maybe.....maybe 30 times? How sad! Right?

In a Prayer this past week, I told God(like HE didn't already know it, right?)that if I needed to go visit, HE would have to provide a way. I told God the Great Jehovah Jireh; "God is our Provider" that would need a way. That day at lunch with a friend, I was talking to a sister and when I hung up from talking, my friend who had not heard about my Prayer, just out of the blue, told me he was gong through my hometown this coming weekend and I was welcomed to catch a ride.....how cool is that?

Ok here's the deal.....God is Good All the time!!! All the time God is Good!!

I am on my way to visit and realize life is too short. We are here today and gone tomorrow and what kind of mark am I leaving? As a Christian am I leaving a Jesus mark or a Greasey spot?  Am I taking the time to share with the most important people in my life that they matter to me and how much they mean to me, how they are all blessing from God? But most important how much God love them and the price that was paid? Or am I really showing them how much other stuff is more important? Or am I sharing things that will not change Heaven? Then about how much time that has been wasted with these things that we can not carry with us? Have I been spending more time increasing the numbers in my inter circle vs the numbers in heaven?

So, I got to my hometown and got to do some visiting with my sister and got to tell her how much I love her and how much she means to me. Bottom-line is life is too short and I want to start today to not leave anyone any doubt about how I feel about them.

I also wanting to be more of a better influence, especially with all my Grand-daughters(there are 6 of them)and 2 are currently living with us....

God has given me a do over and if you were to really think about it, how many do overs has HE given you? How many "mulligans" has HE given us all?

People are here in our lives for such a short time and then they are gone....either moved onto another chapter of their life....or gone from here. I don't know about, but I want to see them again in Heaven sitting at the feet of Christ, I want to see you at HIS feet. It isn't too late.

I know I used to get so wrapped up about speaking to others about the blood of Jesus and it really finally dawned on me, that HE did called me because I was equipped, HE would equip me and HE has. Moses said He could speak and GOD used Him......Let's get out of HIS way and let HIM use us to share and to bless someone else.

I love what it says in Psalm 2:4 where it says “He Who sits in the heavens laughs...” Have you ever imagined God laughing in the heavens? Think about it for a moment. Right now, God is on the throne. He’s not mad. He’s not worried about the economy. He’s not upset with you and me. God is full of joy and laughing on the throne. It goes on to tell us in Psalm 37 that He’s laughing because “He can see the destruction of the enemy coming.” In other words, the reason God laughs is because He knows the end of the story. He knows the final outcome. The good news is that you and I win. God always causes us to triumph! That is the News we need to be sharing....Amen?
