"It is nice to learn that the work of our students is getting noticed,” said Dana Kling, a Brookwood High Advanced Placement language arts teacher.

Kling, who also is the staff sponsor of the literary magazine along with the school’s Visual Arts Department Chair Deb Sumpter, added that "the work our students do is always professional and polished. We’re proud of them and of the fact that our school is able to distribute over 1,200 copies of Pegasus to our students free of charge."

Pegasus was first created and distributed in the Brookwood High community more than two decades ago to celebrate and showcase the best of student writing, art, and photography. Readers enjoy a variety of material including stories, poems, and plays, along with the best in art and photography that students produce.

In fact, the association also recognized Brookwood High graduate William Smith, who was awarded with the Outstanding Art Award for his drawing, Tree of Life, which was published in the 2010-11 edition of Pegasus. (See attached photo.)
