Brookwood's Eric Mapoles Nominated for 'Good Works'

Now at Wingate, the linebacker is in the running for the AllState American Football Coaches Association Good Works Team.

A former Brookwood High School standout has been nominated for the AllState American Football Coaches Association Good Works Team.

Eric Mapoles, a linebacker at Wingate University, is one of 182 nominated for the award, called the most prestigious off-the-field honor in college football.

A team captain as a senior, Mapoles received the Brookwood leadership scholarship following his final season. He posted 101 tackles and five quarterback sacks as a senior and was selected for the 2011 Gwinnett County All-Star game following his final campaign.
