Underage drinking is dangerous and can have serious consequences. Thank you, Snellville alcohol retailers, for checking ID's!

Did you know that almost 20% of alcohol in the United States is consumed by those under the age of 21? In 2010, underage drinking cost the United States $62 billion. Among the 15 to 20 year old drivers involved in fatal motor vehicle crashes in 2012, 23% of them were drinking.
Retail availability is one of the ways that young adults under the age of 21 are able to get alcohol. Teens drink less often than adults, but when teens drink they drink more than adults. On average, young people have about five drinks on a single occasion. Alcohol intoxication impairs judgment, and teens who are intoxicated often engage in dangerous risk-taking behaviors such as fighting, unwanted, unplanned and unprotected sex and injuries from falls, burns or near drownings.
