Neil Simon's "Fools"

In this Neil Simon comedy, an ambitious young schoolteacher arrives in the village of Kulyenchikow - a village with 200-year curse of stupidity cast on it and falls hopelessly in love with a girl name Sophia (who's as least as dumb as her neighbors).  If he can't educate her within 24 hours of his arrival in Kylyenchikow, he too, will fall victim to the curse...
