Funeral Arrangements Have Been Made for Thomas Pendergraft

Thomas Lloyd Pendergraft, age 79 of Snellville, GA passed away March 20, 2013. 

Mr. Pendergraft was born November 30, 1933 to Thomas Wilson and Edna Lloyd Pendergraft in Orange County, NC.  He entered the U.S. Air Force at age 17, where he trained and worked as a radar mechanic and operator.  He served overseas in Guam and Korea during the Korean Conflict where he received a bronze star.  He attended seminary at Southeastern Baptist Seminary in Wake Forest, NC receiving a master of divinity. In 1977 he received ministerial standing with the United Church of Christ and on June 10, 1979 was ordained as a full standing minister.  Through his ministerial service he pastored Pilgrim United Church of Christ, Charlotte, NC, Rodgers Park UCC, Kannapolis, NC, Interim Pastor at multiple UCC Churches in NC, Bethel Bear Creek UCC, Mt Pleasant, NC, Associate Pastor Oceanview UMC, Oak Island, NC.  

He is survived by his wife, Hattie R. Pendergraft; children, David K. and wife Shirley Pendergraft of Las Vegas, Donna and husband C.H. Early of Durham, NC, Brenda Pendergraft of Greensboro, NC, Susan H. Pendergraft Frye of Durham, NC, Kelly D. Pendergraft of Cincinnati, OH, Karen Kahovache of Durham, NC; step sons, David Knight of Snellville, GA, Don Lee Knight of Hurdlemills, NC, Mark Knight of Tampa, FL.; brother, Ralph Pendergraft and wife Toni of Chatham County, NC. 

He was preceded in death by his brother, Emmett Pendergraft. 

A Memorial Service Honoring the Life of Thomas Lloyd Pendergraft will be held Friday, March 22 at 1:00pm at Cannon UMC with Dr. Tom Elliott officiating.  A Graveside Service will be held Saturday, March 23 at 2:00pm at Bethel BearCreek UCC Cemetery, 18937 Bear Creek Church Road, Mt. Pleasant, NC.
