Funeral Services Announced for Walter Carden Ashcraft

Walter Carden Ashcraft, age 74, of Lilburn, Georgia, entered into rest on Tuesday, July 10, 2012. 

He is survived by his wife, Margaret Ashcraft; daughter, Jane Ashcraft of Tampa, FL; son and daughter-in-law, Carden and Lisa Ashcraft of Jefferson, GA; three grandchildren, Scotty Simmons of Tampa, FL, Mary Margaret Ashcraft and Wesley (Wes) Ashcraft both of Jefferson, Ga.; brother and sister-in-law, Frederick Wayne and Rinne Ashcraft of Tampa, Fla.; numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.

Walter Ashcraft was born in Kentucky on April 6, 1938 to Nancy Reba Carden Ashcraft and Frederick Ashcraft.  He entered the United States Air Force and was honorably discharged from the Air Force and started a 41 year career with NCR as an Executive Manager of the computer/big systems division. 

Walter had such a great enjoyment of using computers and especially tracing the Genealogy of both sides of his family.  He attended many of the NCR Retirement Meetings and cherished time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

A Service Celebrating the Life of Mr. Ashcraft will be held Saturday, July 14, at 2:00 P.M. at Tom M. Wages Snellville Chapel with Robert (Bob) Lovein officiating.  Interment will follow at Eternal Hills Memory Gardens, Snellville, Ga. 

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.  Flowers are accepted. Condolences may be sent or viewed at www.wagesfuneralhome.com.
