Ideation Symposium to Launch Entrepreneurial High School Students

In an effort to increase the entrepreneurial spirit of the city’s youth, a Global Entrepreneurship Week Ideation Symposium event will take place Wednesday.

The event will run from 10:10 a.m. to 1:10 p.m. in the auditorium at South Gwinnett High School and will help young business hopefuls from South Gwinnett, Brookwood, Central Gwinnett and Mill Creek high schools.

Global Entrepreneurship Week is the world’s largest celebration of the innovators and job creators who launch startups that bring ideas to life, drive economic growth and expand human welfare. During one week each November, GEW inspires people everywhere through local, national and global activities.

“The thrust of our GEW event is to start the students on the journey of entrepreneurship,” said city Economic Development Manager Eric Van Otteren. “There will be a panel discussion that will work with two to three students from the audience and engage them in the process of ideation and client discovery. The city of Snellville and the Entrepreneurship Alliance has assembled a distinguished group of panelists to engage young business enthusiasts from the audience in ideation and client discovery.”

Following the panel discussion, the Entrepreneurship Alliance student entrepreneurs will engage in roundtable conversations with local entrepreneurs to discuss the concepts and ideas relevant to their personal startup.

Nashville-based entrepreneur April Consulo, documentation application developer Imaad Rashied, of BluMenlo, and Hiram Sostre, a local startup business operator who is trying to develop a Spanish-speaking leadership-based program, will be on the panel.
