Results of recent Gwinnett County restaurant inspections in Snellville by East Metro Public Health with a synopsis of deficiencies found by the inspector. These are reports over the past week.

Name: Bruster's Ice Cream and Yogurt
Location: 2324 Scenic Highway
Score: 91/A
Previous Scores: 98/A (Nov. 29, 2010); 97/A (Feb. 25, 2010)
Deficiencies observed: Employee used hand sanitizer after handling money, instead of washing hands with soap and water

Name: Mellow Mushroom
Location: 2000 Main Street East
Score: 97/A
Previous Scores: 91/A (Aug. 26, 2010); 88/B (March 23, 2010)
Deficiencies observed: Cutting board with deep groves and needs to be resurfaced or replaced; inspectors observed multiple chipped plates; outside water reservoir of dish machine was dirty; missing part on dish machine; and went above prep cooler with great dust accumulation.

Deficiencies observed: Employees drinking from an unapproved, uncovered container in the food prep area; sanitizer concentration at bucket station above acceptable level; inspection report not posted in appropriate public view; and chipped serving plates.

Deficiencies observed: An employee did not was hands between changing of gloves; employees drinking from an unapproved, uncovered container in the food prep or food storage area; cold-held potentially hazardous foods (eggs, ice cream mix cream cheese, etc.) not maintained at right temperature; most current inspection report not posted as required; and coolers not at right temperature.
