Local Artist Featured in Pottery Displays at Snellville City Hall
City Hall is located at 2432 Oak Road.

Lilburn artist Susan Boudreaux will bring her earth-colored pottery to Snellville’s City Hall starting Nov. 10.
“My handmade pieces can vary from very earthy pieces, which embrace the colors of nature, to the very whimsical pieces which celebrate the unexpected in the use of color and the ease of shape,” she said. “I am very inspired by the colors of the earth. I will usually lean toward the warm colors of a beach at sunset or the flowing blues and greens of the oceans when I am glazing.”
Boudreaux will be the latest artist to have her work available for viewing in the display cases at the entrance of City Hall Council Chambers. City Hall, located at 2432 Oak Road, is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. The display is organized by the Snellville Arts Commission.

Boudreaux said her art is either hand crafted or made using a potter’s wheel.
“My hand painted pieces also embrace the use of color and reflect the inspiration I find in nature. I use watery transparent low fire glazes to hand paint in an effort not to overwhelm the piece itself,” she said. “Each piece is functional as well as decorative and many show a touch of whimsy. I try to bring together form, function, and color in a way that is not only pleasing to the senses but will also give my work individuality and enhance its handmade nature. I hope that each piece I complete successfully reflects my love and celebration of the process. My pieces are very functional in that they are safe for foods, oven proof, dishwasher safe and may be used in a microwave for heating purposes. The clays and glazes I use are made here in Tucker and are made to be used in the home with foods.”
