School Bus Accident Involving Norton Elementary Students

Gwinnett County schools officials are reporting a school bus accident involving students from Norton Elementary in Snellville.

At approximately 3:20 p.m. a bus was involved in an accident at the intersection of U.S. Highway 78 and Highpoint Road, according to a brief statement from Jorge Quintana, a spokesman for the district. 

"We have been told that two students were transported from the bus to an area hospital with minor injuries for evaluation," Quintana said.

The driver of a minivan also involved in the accident was transported for minor injuries, as well, said Cpl. Jake Smith, of Gwinnett County Police Department.

Gwinnett County police is handling the investigation.
