Updated: Missing Woman Found Safe

Updated, 4 p.m., Jan. 3:

 11Alive News is reporting that the 72-year-old woman who went missing Jan. 2 has been found safe. According to a television news report, she was located in her own yard and is currently at home. She will be evaluated.

The search for Chang Petersen began January 2, after she was reported missing from her home. 

She was last seen at about 1:30 p.m., Jan. 2, wearing a brown parka and dark pants in the area of Rock Springs Park, Lawrenceville.

Gwinnett County police searched for her until late January 2, and then resumed search efforts this morning at 7 a.m. By then, code enforcement officers, the Gwinnett County Sheriff's Office, Suwanee Police, and the Georgia State Defense Force had joinedsearch efforts. 

During the search, police did not suspect foul play.
