Snellville City Hall to Open Jan. 29 at Noon; Recycling, Courts, Senior Center Closed

City office and services are limited Wednesday due to the snow in the winter storm.

Snellville City HallΒ will open Wednesday (Jan. 29) at noon, according to the city spokesman Brian Arrington.Β 

TheΒ Snellville Recycling Center, Senior CenterΒ and city courtsΒ will be closed, though. RecyclingΒ will reopen Thursday, weather permitting.Β Snellville City Hall will be open until 5 p.m.

Snow has been falling in Gwinnett County ever since 11 a.m. Tuesday and has been slowly accumulating. The snow is expected to continue mainly until midnight, with a total of one to two inches sticking, according to the National Weather Service. Tomorrow's forecast is mostly sunny with a high of 35.Β 

Gwinnett County PublicΒ Schools have announced that they will close Wednesday.Β 

With theΒ roads,Β GwinnettΒ County officials believe they areΒ prepared for the winter stormΒ in terms of employees on hand,Β snow plows, andΒ salt and sandΒ spreader gates. Still, drivers are cautioned to stay off the roads until midday Wednesday.
