Local Teen Surrenders, Charged in Homicide

Gwinnett County police have charged Hunter Mason Davis with murder and aggravated assault in connection with a June shooting at Paxton Lane Apartments in Lilburn.

Gwinnett Police have made a second arrest in the fatal shooting of a man found dead late in June at a Lilburn-area apartment complex.

Hunter Mason Davis, a 17-year-old who resides at Compton Woods Drive in Snellville, has now been charged with felony murder and aggravated assault, according to Gwinnett County Police and jail records. He was booked into the Gwinnett Detention Center Thursday afternoon.

(The address for Davis is noted as Snellville by Gwinnett County Police, but the area is in unincorporated Gwinnett County where both Snellville and Loganville intersect.)

Larocca, of Loganville, was found dead at The Columns at Paxton Lane Apartments in Lilburn. A courtesy officer noticed the body in a breezeway during a routine off-duty patrol of the complex.

Both Davis and are being held at the Gwinnett Detention Center without bond.

A release from the Gwinnett Sheriff’s Department said that Davis turned himself in Thursday after his father met with deputies and agreed to help have his son surrender.

According to Sheriff’s Department spokesperson Stacey Bourbonnais, Davis is accused of arranging a drug transaction and being present during the shooting.

Larocca was not a resident of the Lilburn complex, and police say the friends have been cooperative in the investigation.

The investigation is ongoing.
