Snellville's Own Diana DeGarmo Gets Engaged on 'American Idol' Finale
In an "American Idol" first, two former contestants get engaged on the show. One half of the happy couple is Diana DeGarmo.
Snellville's hometown girl is getting married.
Diana DeGarmo, who was born in Birmingham, Ala., but raised primarily in Snellville, Ga., was pleasantly surprised on the "American Idol" finale Wednesday evening.
Ace Young, who also was a contestant on the show, proposed to a shocked DeGarmo during the live taping. "This has always been home to us, and I felt that this would be the perfect place to ask a simple question," he said, according to a report on People.com.

DeGarmo said yes.
People magazine quoted DeGarmo as saying, "I'm so speechless right now. "Wow, babe, you picked a good one! My makeup's running."

According to the magazine, the couple moved in together in January.
