South Gwinnett Students Begin Local Version of 'Shark Tank'
Students pitch their business ideas for a chance to win seed money.
Five future entrepreneurs from South Gwinnett High School will split $2,000 to start their businesses, thanks to a business competition patterned after the popular TV show, "Shark Tank."
The Snellville version of Shark Tank, created by the Snellville Entrepreneur Alliance, began Wednesday, during which a panel of judges decided who could use the money the most.
South Gwinnett students participated in the competition on Wednesday, April 30; Brookwood High student (Thursday) and Central Gwinnett (Friday) are next to pitch their ideas.

The best of the student businesses will square off in the finals at the Gwinnett Chamber of Commerce May 7 for a chance to win an iPad.
“I never really thought they would have the faith in me that I have in myself,” South junior Omar Bailey, who pitched a clothing line called Cultural Flow and won $400, said in a posting on the city's website. “I feel blessed.”

Other winners included: Ruben Perez and his clothing business Los Chiferos; Alexander Allen and his online magazine Blue; Cameron Malone and his chicken wing business Cam’s Catering Wings; Levonubari Nenbee and her clothing line LoveLev; and Christian Larson and his voiceover business Mad Voice Box.
