Student Work Hits State Arts Gathering

Some 54 local students, including several from Snellville, will be represented at the All-State Art Symposium's (ASAS) Exhibit Kennesaw State University on May 5.

Members of the art community will have the opportunity to experience some of
the work created by several Gwinnett County Public Schools (GCPS) students as
professional artists, art educators, parents, and students come together for a statewide fine arts gathering.

The art pieces created by 54 students from , Collins Hill High, Grayson High Technical Education Program, Mill Creek High, Mountain View High, Norcross High, North Gwinnett High, Parkview High, Peachtree Ridge High, and have been selected to be part of this year’s All-State Art Symposium’s (ASAS) Exhibit on the Kennesaw State University
campus.

This year’s event takes place on May 5.

Sponsored by the Georgia Art Education Association (GAEA), the All-State Art Symposium is held annually as a way to cultivate art appreciation in Georgia high school students, further develop their skills and artistic talents, and provide them with cultural opportunities.

In addition to the exhibit, the Gwinnett students will participate in learning
opportunities such as presentations and workshops.

The artwork of the following students from Snellville schools was chosen among the best in the state to be featured during the event:

  • Georgia Bland, painting entitled "Broken" (teacher Chris Vigardt)
