Let's call it what it is, folks.
We're living in what will go down in history as the Second Cold War. We have embassies shut down globally, and heightened security here at home. Did you know that, over the past month, hundreds of top-level al-Qaeda affiliates have broken out of prison?
I'm thinking that might just have something to do with the current alerts.
Does the current shut down of embassies seem a little odd to you? Here we have, supposedly, a "specific" threat to our people overseas, and yet every Middle Eastern (and some African and Asian) embassy is shut down? That's pretty non-specifically specific. The French have shut down their embassy in Yemen, but I haven't heard if other Western countries have done so (although I could be wrong.) Speaking of Yemen, that's another possible clue as to what the heck is going on. We just droned down a few other top al-Qaeda-ites.
Personally, I don't think al-Qaeda is coordinated enough to pull off another 9/11. But, I do think there are larger forces at play here. Russia, for example, doesn't seem to be as friendly as it once was. These threats that our people are under overseas right now aren't minor - there are warships headed that way right now. Our entire military is on high alert.
I pray for all the local service men and women, and your friends and families. And I pray that this second Cold War ends peacefully. I hope this is more an abundance of caution after Benghazi, and not the lead-up to an attack. What do you think?
