Three Snellville Teams Headed to State Tournament

Brookwood girls move into state tournament, after winning first regional championship since 1993.

Three Snellville teams have advanced to the Georgia High School Association's state tournament, which begins this Friday in first-round games.

Brookwood High's girls, winning their first regional championship since 1993 will host Northview 6:30 p.m. on Friday in a first-round game.

Brookwood (25-2) upset Parkview 49-44 Saturday for the Region 8-AAAAA title. Northview (17-10) lost to Milton in a Region 6-AAAAA consolation game on Saturday.

South Gwinnett girls and Brookwood boys will also play in the Class AAAAA tournament, beginning Friday.

South Gwinnett (17-11), which won against Berkmar in a third-place regional finish, plays Alpharetta (21-5), which lost the 6-AAAAA championship to the Roswell Lady Hornets. The game is scheduled for 7 p.m. Friday at Alpharetta.

Brookwood boys (10-17), who won their last regional match against Central Gwinnett 52-44, plays 6-AAAAA runner-up Centennial. The game is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Saturday at Centennial in Roswell.
