Viewfinder: Story Quilts on Display at Snellville Library

Students from Norton Elementary created paper story quilts, a la Faith Ringgold, as a school art project. The Snellville Library branch hosted an art reception to celebrate the artists, whose quilts are now on display in the children's section.

Approximately 60 second and third grade students from have their artwork on display in the children's section of the of the Gwinnett County Library.

The art was inspired by the works of Faith Ringgold, an artist and writer famous for her painted story quilts.

Each child created a block of the quilts, which measure 3 feet by 6 feet.
