• Mansions Proposal Threatens National Park in Georgia (sierraclub.org) — A proposed federal land swap could allow eight large private mansions and more development on nearby Cumberland Island, and the National Park Service is holding an in-person meeting in St. Marys on Sept. 23 to hear public input. Conservation groups argue the plan threatens wildlife habitat and violates the island's original preservation goals, and residents can submit comments through Oct. 16.
