• Bat tests positive for rabies in metro Atlanta, health officials confirm (wsbtv.com) — A rabid bat was recently found dead near Millstone Trail in the Stone Mountain area, and DeKalb County officials are urging residents to take precautions. Locals are reminded to keep pets' rabies vaccinations current, secure trash and outdoor feeding spots, and seek immediate medical care after any bite or scratch from animals. Animal control may trap wildlife only if a person or pet was bitten.
