Comebacks take spotlight, nine DeKalb teams win in week two (thechampionnewspaper.com) — Stone Mountain High's football team fell to Redan 34-12 in week two, as part of a busy slate where nine DeKalb County teams picked up wins. Local fans can see how every nearby program fared, including detailed highlights from Chamblee's late comeback over Arabia Mountain and other matchups across county stadiums.
   

4. Spooky season: NETHERWORLD voting, Woodstock scarecrows, theater tours (fox5atlanta.com) — Stone Mountain's NETHERWORLD Haunted House is kicking off its 30th season and needs your daily online votes as it competes for a national "Best Haunted House" title. Locals can also plan fall fun with Woodstock's Scarecrow Invasion and ghost-hunting tours at Atlanta's Fox Theatre, all starting later this month and into October.
   

5. Atlanta rapper sold fraud tutorials while running $6.5 million scheme (thestate.com) — A Stone Mountain rapper has been sentenced to six years in federal prison for a $6.5 million stolen-check fraud scheme that also involved selling online "how-to" tutorials. Residents get a look at how the operation worked across metro Atlanta and practical tips from investigators on protecting their own mail and bank accounts from similar scams.
