• Suspect Arrested In DeKalb Shooting That Killed 2, Injured 2 (patch.com) — Stone Mountain residents are reeling after an 18-year-old was arrested in connection with a weekend shooting on North Hairston Road that killed two young brothers and wounded their pregnant cousin and aunt. DeKalb County officials condemned the violence and said the community will not tolerate such crimes as the suspect now faces felony murder and aggravated assault charges.
   

• Man accused of killing Gwinnett County police officer at hotel heading to court for hearing (cbsnews.com) — A Gwinnett County officer's fatal shooting at a Holiday Inn near Stone Mountain is moving forward in court, with the accused gunman set for motions and arraignment hearings. Prosecutors say the DeKalb County suspect, who allegedly opened fire when officers tried to arrest him on warrants, now faces murder, gang, and weapons charges and could face the death penalty.
