• 9/11 Remembrance Events in metro Atlanta, North Georgia (fox5atlanta.com) — Suwanee will host a 9/11 Memorial Ceremony at 6 p.m. on Sept. 11 at Remembrance Plaza in Town Center Park, featuring remarks and a flag and wreath-laying at a memorial containing World Trade Center steel. The roundup also highlights similar remembrance events and related tributes across metro Atlanta and North Georgia if you'd like to honor the anniversary elsewhere.
• Hawks under-the-radar signing could make sneaky impact in training camp (soaringdownsouth.com) — A Suwanee native and Peachtree Ridge High School alum, Devon Higgs, has earned a training camp deal with the Atlanta Hawks after an impressive Summer League showing. While he's likely headed to the College Park Skyhawks this season, his aggressive rim attacks and athleticism could still earn him a longer look from the organization.
