Emory Cracks Top 50 List

Emory University recently came in at No. 50 in a ranking of the nation's top colleges and universities.

The 2011-2012 edition of The Best Colleges Top 50 Colleges and Universities in America said, "this Methodist research university with a strong emphasis on undergraduate liberal arts education and cultivating a commitment to service practices need-blind admissions and commits to eliminating or minimizing debt for low and middle-income students through its Emory Advantage program."

The Best Colleges organization, headquartered in San Antonio, Texas, reviews publicly available data and then produces independent ranking assessments of colleges in various disciplines. The organization said its goal is to "produce resources that are useful to prospective students."
