10th Semi-Annual College Prep Series

To again help metro Atlanta students achieve a higher education, Atlanta City Council President Ceasar C. Mitchell will host the 10th semi-annual College Prep Series, offering free college prep entrance exams and counseling for students and parents.

Additionally, in an effort to promote healthy living, Councilman Mitchell has added a Wellness/Fitness component based on the First Lady Michelle Obama’s “Let’s Move” initiative.  The free event series is open to all middle and high school students and parents in metro Atlanta.

  • SAT/PSAT Prep Day, Saturday, April 16, 2011 8:00am – 1:00pm (A PSAT exam starts at 9:30am) at Fredrick Douglass High School, 225 Hamilton E. Holmes Drive SW Atlanta, Georgia 30318.  For this event, use Registration Codes: SKAT1167 – SAT Practice Test @ Douglass High School 8am-12:00pm or PKAT1167 – PSAT Practice Test @ Douglass High School 9:30am – 12:00pm
  • ACT Prep Day, Saturday, April 23, 2011 8:00am - 12:00pm at Henry W. Grady High School, 929 Charles Allen Drive NE Atlanta, Georgia 30303.  For this event, use Registration Code: AKAT1167 – ACT Practice Test @ Grady High School 8:00am – 12:00pm.  
  • (Kaplan’s Parent Seminars will be available at both prep days from 8:00am - 11:00am. Topics include: “SAT vs. ACT”; “Accepted: Getting Into Your 1st Choice School;” and “Scholarship Academy.”  Morning refreshments are courtesy of Hojeji Foods and Lunch will be provided.
  • College Fair Express on April 30 from 8:00am - 12:00pm at Atlanta City Hall, 55 Trinity Avenue Atlanta, Georgia 30303 (Registration Code: SKAT1168 – College Fair @ City Hall South 8:00am - 12:00pm).
