Emory University’s Halle Institute for Global Learning is launching a new China Speaker Series, which will explore China’s political history in the midst of its extraordinary rise as a world power in the 21st century.
As the world’s most important rising power, what kind of role will China take on the international stage? David Shambaugh, director of the China Policy Program at the George Washington University and a Brookings Institution fellow, will explore the domestic discourse in China concerning its international identities, linking these to alternative foreign policy postures that Beijing assumes on the world stage with hiis lecture, "China's International Identities: Coping With a Conflicted Rising World Power."
