Friendship bracelets are making a comeback and there’s no better way to incorporate this blast from the past (whether it be recent or distant) than with a comfy chevron rug. This is a great way to use old incomplete sheet sets or lengths of fabric that are just lying around. (Ages 21+) And as always, it's BYOB!
What you’ll need:
Ten strips of fabric
- Width: 8-10 in. each
- Length: roughly 4 times your desired finished rug length. So, if you want your rug to be 30” in length, you would need 120” long strips
- Colors: either 2 colors (5 strips of one color, 5 of the other) or 5 colors (2 strips of each color)
Since purchasing sheets are often much less expensive than purchasing fabric by the yard, here is a standard flat sheet chart.
Twin 66" x 96"
Full 81" x 96" +
Queen 90" x 102" +
King (Standard/Eastern) 108" x 102" +
California King 102" x 110"
+ The dimensions of flat sheets vary somewhat in width and length by manufacturer. The + denotes that some manufacturers offer sheets with a few added inches.
