"The Crowd" was produced by Irving Thalberg with screenplay by Vidor and John Weaver and starring Eleanor Boardman and James Murray.
The film is King Vidor’s ode to the struggling urban everyman and it mystified both 1928 audiences and Variety’s reviewer. Today, it is universally hailed as a masterpiece of the “high silent era” during its rapid eclipse by sound.
Featuring a live musical performance from renowned silent film accompanist Donald Sosin.
