Emory Summer Concert Band
Twilight Concerts 2012
Scott A. Stewart, conductor
Scott Stewart conducts light, summer musical fare, perfect for warm summer evenings.
This year's line-up includes classical favorites “Light Cavalry Overture” by Franz Suppe and “Danse Bacchanale” from “Samson and Delilah” by Camille Saint-Saens. Ethnic flair will be highlighted with Jacques Press's Yiddish “Wedding Dance” and Alfred Reed's “El Camino Real.” Marches and original wind ensemble music will round out the evenings, with Ralph Vaughan Williams's “Sea Songs,” Malcolm Arnold's “Prelude, Siciliano, and Rondo,” and the ever-popular “Suite of Old American Dances” by Robert Russell Bennett. For an Olympics salute, the ESCB will perform John Williams' “Summon the Heroes,” and a handful of other fun summer tunes will be featured.
