Meet Garrett Turner: Emory Grad and Marshall Scholarship Recipient

2011 Emory grad awarded prestigious scholarship

Garrett Turner, a 2011 graduate, was awarded a 2012 Marshall Scholarship to pursue graduate coursework in England.

This is the third year in a row that an Emory grad has received the prestigious scholarship.

The scholarship sends 40 students from the United States to the university of their choice in the United Kingdom for two years. More than 800 applicants were interviewed this year for the exclusive award.

Turner is currently studying at the University of St. Andrews in Scotland as a Bobby Jones Scholar, one of Emory’s most competitive scholarships.

Turner plans to pursue two one-year degrees with his Marshall Scholarship, a master of arts in theater and performance at Queen Mary, University of London and a master of arts in creative writing with a concentration in scriptwriting at University of East Anglia.
