Midtown Race for MAC Benefits Working Poor

Midtown Assistance Center Celebrates 30 Years, Holds 5K Race/Walk to Raise Support

The Midtown Assistance Center (MAC) announced The Midtown Race for MAC, set for 8:30 a.m. Saturday, May 7, 2016, open to runners and walkers of all ages and abilities, in Piedmont Park.

In 2016, MAC celebrates its 30th anniversary of supporting the working poor in the Midtown community. The race/walk will raise money for MAC’s mission of preventing homelessness and hunger for working families.

“The first two editions of the race in 2014 and 2015 combined to raise over $40,000 to fund emergency assistance for low-income, working Atlantans,” said Dorothy Deakins Chandler, Executive Director of the Midtown Assistance Center. “This race, with its broad appeal to all ages, makes a great way to support and celebrate MAC and our mission. We want people to get to know MAC as well as have the opportunity to enjoy being outdoors in one of the most beautiful areas of our city.”
