
Two women are resting at Grady Memorial Hospital after surviving a house fire in Morningside on Tuesday afternoon, FOX 5 Atlanta reports.
Atlanta Fire Rescue units responded to the scene on Windermere Drive at approximately 2 p.m. and began to battle the blaze and assist the home’s occupants. Although the two women managed to escape the fire, two dogs inside the home did not.
Both women were conscious and alert, but transferred to Grady to treat injuries sustained in the fire. Fire officials said that one of the women had suffered burns and smoke inhalation.

Investigators are still working to determine the cause of the fire.
