One Warm Coat - Help Engel & Voelkers Intown Atlanta collect winter apparel for people in need!
Everyone should have one warm coat – too many do not! Join us in our 5th annual Coat Drive. Donate gently worn coats, jackets, sweatshirts.
ENGEL & VÖLKERS Intown Atlanta’s 5th annual coat drive has begun! We are cooperating with the Virginia-Highland Morningside Parent Association (VHMPA) to collect 100+ coats this year.
We ask people to donate gently-used, clean, wearable coats and other winter outerwear. We accept fleece or down pullovers and vests, sweater-coats, raincoats, hats, toboggans, scarves, mufflers, gloves, mittens. We need warm outerwear for babies and toddlers, boys and girls, men and women.
The coats are given to Refugee Resettlement and Immigration Services of Atlanta (RRISA) which became New American Pathways (http://newamericanpathways.org/) in 2014. New American Pathways serves refugees, asylees, victims of human trafficking, Violence Against Women Act cases, and low-income immigrants. The refugees enter the U.S. legally and are on track to become U.S. citizens within 5 years. Many of the recipients arrive with nothing but the clothes on their backs. And for some, fall and winter in Atlanta is the first time they will experience cold weather.
We conduct our coat drive under the umbrella of One Warm Coat, a national organization that helps grass roots efforts like ours. It is a 501 (c) 3 charitable organization so donations to our coat drive are tax deductible; don’t forget to ask for a receipt. The coat drive is good motivation for all of us to clean out our closets.
Coats can be dropped off at our office at 1411 N. Highland Ave NE Atlanta, GA 30306 (In Morningside across from Doc Chey’s). We will accept donations through November 23rd.
What better time to donate a coat and feel warm inside?
Wishing everyone the best!
