Sports Roundup: Grady Basketball Undefeated, Druid Hills Tops Lithonia

Grady Knights Start Season 3-0

The boys’ varsity basketball team kicked off the season on Nov. 29, defeating Decatur High 61-53.

The Knights dominated against Therrell on Dec. 3 (65-41) and carried the momentum against North Atlanta on Dec. 6, edging out the district rival 56-49.

Grady (3-0) faces Riverwood on Friday, Dec. 9.

Druid Hills Tops Lithonia, McNair

The boys’ varsity basketball team dominated in their season opener against McNair with a 45-19 victory on Nov. 29.

On Dec. 3, the Red Devils defeated Lithonia 61-57.

Willie Zachery finished with 20 points, Kyle Simmons had 14 points and Clarence Williams had a double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds.

The Red Devils suffered their first loss of the season against Riverwood on Dec. 6. DHHS lost 47-45 and the team was just 9 of 23 from the line.

Druid Hills (2-1) faces North Atlanta on Friday, Dec. 9.
