St. John's hosts Georgia Innocence Project for community conversation

Join us for a discussion on our criminal justice system.

On Saturday, April 11 at 4 p.m., St. John’s will welcome Aimee Maxwell, Executive Director of the Georgia Innocence Project (GIP). The GIP’s mission is to free those who have been wrongfully incarcerated and to educate the public on the issue. We will be engaging in a discussion with our congregation, other churches in our community, and our neighbors about the criminal justice system and the ways we can come together as a community to help deal with this issue.

On Saturday, April 18 at 6 p.m. at St. John’s, the Georgia Innocence Project’s first exoneree, Clarence Harrison, will tell the story of his traumatic experience as a man convicted of a crime he did not commit. In song and story, he will tell of his journey and how he overcame the challenges of returning to society after almost two decades in prison.

Come and join the conversation and invite your friends and neighbors.
